Job description

As a Head of People at Atlantic Food Labs, you will be an integer part of the AFL core team. You will help to identify and recruit the best candidates for our entire AFL family as well as recruit entrepreneurs which consequently launch and accelerate the best food & health start-ups in the European ecosystem for Atlantic Food Labs. You will gain deep insights into our diverse portfolio of early stage and growth companies and strategically manage the exciting and single most important resource for us, our people. The ideal candidate has a hands-on mentality and brings HR experience from working in a high-growth environment, ideally in the start-up sector.


As our Head of People you can expect on a daily basis to:

  • Have an open ear for all people working within the Atlantic Food Labs family. Be the first point of contact for all questions about people & culture.

  • Advise our managers and leadership team on all topics related to performance management & professional development

  • Our people are our greatest asset. To support us with finding our future leaders and winning candidates, you will head our recruiting efforts on a strategic as well as operative level by managing our portfolio people operations and driving people operations for all our exciting portfolio companies

  • Strategically identify, steer, recruit and manage the hiring process for potential candidates via a number of channels: e.g. LinkedIn, Recruitment Agencies, University Job Boards, personal network, etc.

  • Identify, organize and manage recruitment fairs as well as employer branding events to increase the visibility of Atlantic Food Labs

  • Develop and execute effective employer branding campaigns / strategies

  • Work with a highly impressive group of founders from our portfolio

  • Be part of a growing team in a fast-paced environment surrounded by talented, supportive, and international group of people and a great and modern office in the heart of Berlin Mitte

Requirements

  • You are passionate about food, nutrition and start-ups

  • Grow our people by driving the creation and deployment of training and education curriculums in cooperation with our operations department.

  • Your passion for all topics HR & people shows in your ability to inspire others to understand the HR function as a strategic critical lever to the success of our business

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with excellent spoken and written German as well as English

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to details and problem-solving capability

  • 2+ years of experience in a relevant HR role in a fast-paced, high growth start-up environment

  • Proven expertise in Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding

  • Ability to organize & prioritize your work and to work independently

  • A true hands-on approach whilst demonstrating the ability to think and act strategically, staying level-headed

  • You love networking and have a natural curiosity and interest in meeting people and to learn about other business models

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in Human Resources Management, Psychology or Business

  • Fluent in German and English, additional languages are a plus

  • Strong communication skills desired (a “people’s person”), meaning an exceptional communicator, secure and convincing in all settings, effectively communicating to entrepreneurs, applicants, senior management of industry companies, partners, etc.
