Job description

As a Head of People at Atlantic Food Labs, you will be an integer part of the AFL core team. You will help to identify and recruit the best candidates for our entire AFL family as well as recruit entrepreneurs which consequently launch and accelerate the best food & health start-ups in the European ecosystem. You will gain deep insights into our diverse portfolio of early stage and growth companies and strategically manage the exciting and single most important resource for us, our people. 


The ideal candidate has a hands-on mentality and brings HR experience from working in a high-growth environment. 


As our Head of People you can expect on a daily basis to:

  • Have an open ear for all people working within the Atlantic Food Labs family. Be the first point of contact for all questions about people & culture.

  • Advise our managers, founders and leadership team on all topics related to performance management & professional development. 

  • To support us with finding our future leaders by heading our recruiting efforts on a strategic as well as operative level.

  • Strategically identify, steer, recruit and manage the hiring process for potential candidates via a number of channels: e.g. LinkedIn, Recruitment Agencies, University Job Boards, personal network, etc.

  • Identify, organize and manage recruitment fairs as well as employer branding events to increase the visibility of Atlantic Food Labs.

  • Develop and execute effective employer branding campaigns / strategies.

  • Grow our people by driving the creation and deployment of training and education curriculums in cooperation with our operations department.

Requirements

  • You are passionate about food, nutrition and start-ups.

  • Your passion for all topics HR & people shows in your ability to inspire others and to understand the HR function as a strategic critical lever for the success of our business.

  • Analytical skills, attention to detail and creative problem-solving capability.

  • 2+ years of experience in a relevant HR role in a fast-paced, high growth start-up environment

  • Proven experience in Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding.

  • Ability to organize & prioritize your work and to work independently - you own the job :-)

  • A true hands-on approach whilst demonstrating the ability to think and act strategically, staying level-headed.

  • Strong communication skills desired (a “people’s person”), meaning an exceptional communicator, secure and convincing in all settings, effectively communicating to entrepreneurs, applicants, senior management of industry companies, partners, investors etc.
  • An absolute “can do - entrepreneurial” attitude (not afraid to get your hands dirty).
  • You love networking and have a natural curiosity and interest in meeting people.

  • Natural curiosity: You enjoy learning about new business models, trends and the future.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in Human Resources Management, Psychology or Business

  • You are fluent in German and English.
